SILENCE

Silence is a solo performance by Tamar Borer in collaboration with a video artist Noam Baitner.

The work expresses the urgent need to find silence in the midst of turmoil, and the acute yearning for peace. Shaken by an unfathomable reality, we wish to reflect the possibility of awakening the life force that can transcend beyond the difficulties, perceive and create a reality based on hope and compassion.

Silence seeks to embrace this complexity through the search for basic aspects of the origin of human nature. The performance presents a unique primal movement and live vocal language of the performer, inspired by sounds, syllables, words and texts of ancient Hebrew scriptures.

On stage, the performer emerges from thick and stiff metallic industrial materials. Her delicate body lingers in space, evolving from and disappearing into the video art projection that is screened on the back wall of the performance space.

The video art consists of realistic as well as abstract images that are in a constant transformative evolution, intending to unfold the extreme interior state of mind of the performer.

In Silence we seek to expose the vulnerable and bare human condition that submits to reality and at the same time, wishes to provoke and transform it.
