The work seeks to create a space in which one can rediscover the point of stillness in the human soul. As this point expands and deepens, the nature of the respite is revealed. A respite offers us a pause in everything that has happened up to that moment, in order to choose anew the next step.
The four dancers represent: four elements in nature, four mothers, four spirits
The fifth character is that of the wanderer who wanders on his journey along the walls of the space, withdrawn into his inner world, walking among the changing landscapes and reflecting them in his music.
The work HAFUGA is an invitation to take a fresh look at what lies deep within us, and perhaps find that peace of mind that constitutes a solid and stable foundation for gathering strength to continue walking on the path of our lives.
From the reviews: Portfolio magazine / Joy Bernard
"In the new performance by award-winning choreographer and dancer Tamar Borer, it seems for moments that time stands still, and at the same time, all times intersect, meeting through the bodies of four women and one man. The dancers tremble with pain and celebration of the power of life, agitated, merging with each other and separating, finding peace and letting go of it, finishing and starting anew the work of dismantling and reassembling the self.
